Tea Party

Synopsis

Tea Party is an exploration and critique of modern western culture and its pervading philosophy. By consequence, it is an analysis of our current political structure, how it works, and why it cannot continue in its current form indefinitely.

This is the story of Adam Wight, a young, successful businessman and idealist, who is one of the few people left in the world who still sees things as black and white, or good and evil. He believes that the initiation of force or fraud between men is unjust, and will fight, politically, ideologically, and literally on the street if he has no other choice. He does all three. In his quest to bring his brand of justice to the world, he bilks the federal government for millions of taxpayer dollars, (Which he gives to local businesses as returned loot, minus a fee for his work.) and attempts to convince, through reason and Aristotelian logic, the offenders of force and fraud, to understand and agree with his stance. There will be:

Action - When Adam takes to the streets to perform acts of vigilante justice.

Comedy - Adam is a man, paradoxically, full of joy and a passion for life that is infectious. Think Clark Gable meets Spencer Tracy.

Romance - Adam’s wife, Claire, who is also his personal accountant and lawyer, is a major supporting character and is essentially Adam’s accomplice.)

Philosophy - Adam’s adherence to Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism, and its application to life as a partial exploration of his motives.

Intrigue – The dogged pursuit of Adam by a determined, (Although not unsympathetic) law enforcement official.

Ultimately, Adam will be forced to account for his acts in the climax of the film, when he is interrogated by an arresting officer for his actions. Adam must win the day not through force, but through a simple discussion, stating his reasons, and challenging his accusers to prove him wrong. Adam proves that Ideas are what makes the positive change in the world. He shows why nothing will improve until the philosophy of our time changes. He sites people like Aristotle, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Thomas Jefferson as examples of individual men who managed to change the world for the better.

Tea Party will attempt to attract people who are tired of the current two party American political system, civil Libertarians, Objectivists, Constitutionalists, Jeffersonians, etc. By Portraying characters that live by the ideals of the founding fathers in an exciting, intelligent, aggressive, yet mainstream fashion that we hope will incite thought, discourse, and a sense of renewed hope for the future of the United States.

More than anything else, we want to make heroes. Not the flawed, angst ridden anti-heroes that already surround us, but mythic men and women of adamantine integrity who can be used as examples of what kind of people made this country great, and what can bring its greatness back.

Tea Party will be a feature length film of approximately 120 minutes. It will be shot on a projected budget of $10-$30,000 and be distributed both through digital and conventional media. It has been written and will be directed by John Shaw, and produced by Scott McDonnell. Cast and crew TBD.

The Simon Jester Papers

Synopsis

The Simon Jester Papers is the sort of thing Aesthetictech does when it wants to have a little fun... A thorough synopsis would destroy the surprise, but we will make a small statement regarding this project:

It is comedy.

It is True.

It is not factual.

It is a documentary.

It is a hoax.

It is a selective recreation of reality.

It will cost us next to nothing, and sell for about twenty bucks. Ha!

It will be worth every penny. (That YOU spend, of course.)

It is about Simon Jester.

It is not about Simon Jester.

It is not half as obtuse as you think.

The lies will make you laugh.

The facts should make you cry.

It has heroes, they are fictional.

It has villains, they are factual.

It is an underground fad.

It is a revolution.

It is an act of terrorism.

It is a message of hope.

Check your premises.  There are no contradictions.
